Serval Team Member Spotlight: Derrick Liu

Derrick joined the Serval engineering team in November as frontend extraordinaire, and it’s hard to overstate his impact. From ticketing to analytics to some top secret projects in development, almost every part of the Serval user experience has been built or improved upon by Derrick.

What is your dream customer?
"CME Group - the world's largest agricultural commodities exchange. The startup and broader tech ecosystem in the Bay can be exciting and a great opportunity to start out in, but it can give companies tunnel vision that can be hard to translate into the broader industry. I want us to build a strong team and product that gains traction beyond Silicon Valley."

What’s your biggest win at Serval so far?
"I'm proud of our analytics toolset, which enables our customers to understand how their support workload is trending over time and how Serval is automating these requests and reducing repetitive manual work."

What do you enjoy outside of work?
"I'm a big proponent of public transit and sustainable urban development, and I love exploring places on foot, by bike, and by transit."
